Devesh Ranjan is an Indian actor based in Mumbai, who has won global recognition for his role as ‘Shyam’ in the internationally acclaimed film Vara: A Blessing, directed by Khyentse Norbu, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker. He was the opening guest at the 18th Busan International Film Festival, 2013, held in South Korea, which led to his popularity. He learnt acting in Mandi School Of Drama and from the ace casting director - actor Shri Dilip Shankar who he considers as his teacher. Devesh is also known for his major roles in critically acclaimed films like BHOR for which he was nominated as Best Actor at Ottawa Indian Film Festival, Ottawa, Canada, 2019 and JAJABARA 2.0 , a psychological Thriller for which he won the best actor male at Indian tele streaming award 2026, along with notable actors like Manoj Bajpai, Vikrant Messy and Bobby Deol. He has also won Best Actor Award at the prestigious Jaipur International Film Festival 2024 alongside famous actor and director "Prakash Jha" for his critically acclaimed acting in the award winning short film BEHERUPIYA. His films have been recognized across major international film festivals like Tribeca, Cairo, IFFI, BJIFF, Hongkong International Film Festival, Golden Horse Taipei, Locarno etc.
Considered a directors favorite, he has worked with well known international names like Sahana Goswami, William Chang, Bradford Young, Jeremy Thomas, Pao C Dorji, Uma Da Chuna, Nanette Nelms etc
